The Retrospective Permit Process

Retrospective permits are a term that is used when property owners need to turn works without a permit into compliant and certified building work.  The process is formally known as obtaining a Certificate of Substantial Compliance.

This certifies that subsequent occupancy and a completion certification can be made and demonstrate that the necessary building codes and regulations have been met. It’s important to have the property assessed and prepare the application with all of the information required.
